Bailey and family wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Bailey's Present

Hi everyone! Here's Bailey enjoying a ride in the new big car! We've named the SUV as Bailey's car because she doesn't fit in our other smaller cars. So now whenever Bailey is tagging along with us, we take "her" car!

But when Bailey sits in the back, she feels farther away from us. So to make her feel closer, we put the middle seat down and let her lie in the middle. It's become her favourite position! And it's even comfier (and cuter) when she has her teddy bear there to rest her head on.

SNOW!

Bailey's first winter! What's her reaction to snow you ask? First she sniffs the snow then she eats it until her belly can't take it anymore!

Next, it's time to play!! Roll around in the snow, catch snow balls and run in circles like a crazy puppy! Bailey absolutely loves the snow, she really is a mountain dog!

My, my Bailey! What a wet dog you are! I hope this towel will dry you!

Hiking!

Bailey and her new pal, Trigger, went to Lynn Canyon for a nice long hike. These two silly dogs couldn't keep themselves dry! Too bad Bailey couldn't learn how to swim from Trigger, she's too scared of drowning in the shallow creek! By the time the hike was done and Bailey reached the backseat of the car, she was ready for a long long nap.

Favourite Car Position

Bailey doesn't like to stick her head out the window of the car, but instead rests her head on top of the back seats and looks out the window. What an interesting puppy!

New Friend

Bailey met our friend's puppy, a tiny maltepoo! These two puppies shared Bailey's bed and chew toys! Bailey was so eager to play with the puppy that at times she forgot about their size difference and almost squished the poor maltepoo!

Long Weekend

Bailey must be a very happy puppy at the moment. She's been chasing sticks and laying in the grass at Burnaby Mountain, grocery shopping at Granville Island and walking about the sea wall at Stanley park this weekend! She must be exhausted now!

In The Water

Bailey's second visit to Garry Point, the closest beach to us. As Bailey opened up to the water, she had lots of fun jumping around and fetching sticks.

Not Feelin Too Good

Poor Bailey, she wasn't feeling too well on Friday. She's been having an upset stomach and even vomited three times! Being a worried owner, we took her to the vet and found out that she just ate something bad (we think it happened when we visited Granville Island). Now, Bailey is happy to be back to normal.

Nap Time

Looks like the downstairs bathroom is now Bailey's favourite place to nap. The floor provides her a dark and cool area to sleep during the hot summer days.

Graduated

Bailey enjoyed going to her puppy classes for the past few weeks. Here she is with Alice, her teacher, giving Bailey an ear message. What a lucky puppy!

Puppy Party

Richard and Christine were kind enough to host a puppy party at their house. Thanks for sacrificing your garden! Here's Bailey anxious to leave the house and start partying!!

Fun Time!

It was such a sunny yet cool day, the best time to visit a park! Bailey and her friend, Bandit, went to Burnaby Mountain and had a fun time running around, chasing sticks and rolling in the grass. By the end of the day, Bailey was so tired that she plopped down on the grass to take a breather. Plus Bailey lost her bottom canine tooth!!

Laundry Puppy

Just the other day, Kathy was doing laundry and caught Bailey red pawed! She was trying on Kathy's clothes! Maybe that's why we can't seem to find our socks.

Love String?

No puppy was hurt during the photo shoot. Please note that this was done under supervision.

Puppy Class

Look at Bailey interacting with the other adorable puppy! Bailey's now attending puppy basics class and there are 5 other puppies for her to play with. In the beginning she was more interested in the humans rather than the other puppies, but after a couple of minutes off leash Bailey became alive and running around in circles!

Last week Bailey lost 2 puppy teeth and this week she lost one tooth, but the lost teeth were nowhere to be found.

Last Shot

Today Bailey visited the vet for her last shot of the year. Her weight is now 43.2 lbs! She's almost doubled her weight from her last visit. Soon mom will not be able to pick her up and carry Bailey like a human baby...Remembering her favourite spot in the examine room, Bailey squeezes under the chair in the corner. Confused why her body would not fit she sticks, the only body part that fits, her head under the chair.After a few days Bailey will be able to make friends with any puppy, cat or bird! She'll be very happy to realize that we don't need to pick her up when a stranger comes over. Now the search for obedient classes begin!

Weekend Trip

Bailey had an adventurous Saturday. We wanted to give Bailey something special, so we decided to go to the dog bakery where there's plenty of yummy treats! We also wanted Bailey to see more people, for the past few days she hasn't seen new people so she's gotten timid again.

When we put her in the back seat, Bailey complained for a bit because she wasn't used to being in the car for so long. I think she just wanted to drive, but she doesn't have her license yet, so maybe next time. It was such a sunny day, I had all the windows open to let the fresh air in and Bailey just loved taking a long sniff and smelling all the interesting scents. When she got tired of looking at the view, she would lay on my mom's lap and take a quick nap before returning to the window. We were really pleased that Bailey was calm in the car. She didn't wander around when the car was in motion, instead she just sat in her seat and looked out the window.

Arriving at the bakery, Bailey could not stop sniffing the place with a very happy tail. The lady working at the bakery gave Bailey a delicious treat and at once she loved the lady. She is now remembered as the "lady with the yummy treats".
Deciding what she wanted was the hard part. Looking at the yummy treats made me wish they were for humans! They had cupcakes with frosting, brownies, carrot cakes and all sorts of cookies. In the end we choose a couple of good looking cookies.

Bailey's new friend, Bear. He's a handsome, adorable 9 week old St. Bernard and twice as big as Bailey! Many people have mistaken Bailey as a St. Bernard... do you see the resemblance?

By this time, Bailey is exhausted and wants to go home and take a nice long nap. Before we headed home, we stopped at Tisol to buy Bailey a new leash (one that's shorter to handle her better) and an extra squeaky squeaky toy.

Easily Amused

Bailey found a new inexpensive toy to play with... a bottle. She learned that this interesting toy makes a lot of crunching noises when she bites down and that it fits in her mouth. I think that she was happy to find something that she can actually lift! All her chew toys are a bit heavy and a little too big for her mouth. She'd run around the house with the bottle in her mouth and away from us trying to get the bottle to toss it across the room.


This is the bottle after Bailey was half done with it. She's eyeing the bottle asking us to give it back to her. We had to give her a new bottle to play with because the first bottle wasn't in good condition... Poor bottle. Well now we have a new idea what see looks for in a toy! Something that is light, makes a lot of noise and can roll away. She's going to be exhausted tonight!

Amusing Puppy

Here is Bailey playing with the door stopper. She was very amused by the noise it made when she pawed it. This video was taken when she was nine weeks old.

Visit to the Vet

Bailey went to the vets and had her second shots. Instead of being scared of the needle, Bailey was very calm! It seemed as though she didn't even feel the needle! The kennel cough injection was amusing to her. She's never had something go into her nose before! She now weighs 23 lbs (and counting)!!! Wow... she gained 8 pounds! Bailey saw other dogs in the hospital and she wanted to greet them, but she could not go near them yet. Soon she'll be able to make as many friends as she wants!

Trip to the Village

Today the whole family (even Bailey) went to Steveston village for a walk. Arriving at the village Bailey was scared to see so many people and so many smells! But after a few seconds she began to show interest to her new surroundings. Every step we took we were stopped by puppy lovers wanting to pet Bailey. She was getting so much attention! Everyone seemed to love her! Bailey was behaving so well, walking by our side and sat in front of us while we ate fish and chips. She wasn't timid of people when they came over to pet her, she wanted to greet them! After her long walk at the village she comes home all pooped out and now she's on her bed taking a nap.

New Friends

Kristi and Justin came over to visit Bailey for the first time. They were so excited to see her when they arrived. And Bailey absolutely loved Justin! Her tail kept wagging the whole time! We don't receive that tail wagging from her. Oh well, at least Bailey found a new friend to play with! Maybe Kristi and Justin will puppy sit for us when we're away on vacation. Hopefully they come visit Bailey again soon!

Super Puppy!

Secretly Bailey is a super hero! We found her wearing her cape also known as her puppy blanket. Maybe we should put a 'B' on her cape...
